Decals Insert Set

Included in packs of all seven series of 1969 Topps wax packs, the 48 Topps Decals were meant to be transferred onto notebooks or other surfaces by young collectors.  They were marketed by Topps at the time as "Magic Rub-Offs."  As detailed in this post from The Topps Archives, five of the decals use the exact same photo as its flagship set counterpart, eight use the same photo but more tightly cropped and 35 use a completely different picture.  All teams have two players represented, except the Angels who have three due to Hoyt Wilhelm's trade to the team in December 1968 from the Royals.  As a result, the Royals only have one player.

I treated myself in November 2022, buying the entire set from Kit Young Cards in San Diego, during one of the dealer's frequent promotional sales.  I was a bit surprised at how little space the entire set took up, as all 48 decals easily fit inside a sleeve mailed in a standard sized padded envelope.  Clicking on each decal below will take you to the post for the player's card in the flagship set.
